Getting it Done for
Carbon County

She Knows the Issues:

Christine Watkins knows the issues facing Carbon County because she has been at the forefront of solving them in the Utah House. She has worked to give the County control of the East Carbon Coke Ovens, kept the Utah San Rafael Energy Lab open, and supported projects that build Carbon County. She understands the challenges facing local communities because she has spent years working on the issues that shape Carbon County's future: economic growth, energy development, infrastructure, and protecting the rural way of life.

Has Real Governing Experience:

Having served in the Utah House, Christine Watkins brings real governing experience. She will be able to hit the ground running on day one. She has years of experience working on the state budget and on legislation designed to build rural economies. As House chair over economic and community development funding, she has worked directly on the budgets and policies that help rural communities grow, attract investment, and create jobs. She knows how to work with state leaders, agencies, and local partners to move projects from idea to reality.

Leader in Economic Development:

Carbon County needs a commissioner who understands how to create opportunity, and Christine Watkins has that experience. She has worked on legislation and appropriations that strengthen rural economies, support local infrastructure, and keep communities competitive for the future. She understands that economic development in Carbon County means supporting small businesses, preserving important local assets, promoting tourism and recreation, and making sure local communities have a strong voice at the state level. She will continue fighting for projects that bring jobs, investment, and long-term growth to Carbon County.
